Fajr Music Festival announces Barbad Prize winners

The 35th Fajr Music Festival announces winners of different sections for Barbad Prize.

The 35th edition of the Fajr International Music Festival has announced the winners of different sections for Barbad Prize on Friday.

In Classic music section, Alireza Mashayekhi and Peyman Soltani won composing awards.

The best awards at Instrumental Music section went to Behzad Ravaqi, Bahareh Fayyazi, Navid Dehqan, Mehdi Shahsavar and Reza Tabatabaee.

Hamzeh Yeganeh received the award of Fusion Music section and Mahyar Alizadeh won the award for traditional Iranian Music.

The festival also honored Mohsen Chavoshi and Ashkan Maheri for Best Composing at Pop Music section and presented best singing awards of the same section to Homayoun Shajarian and Alireza Qorbani.

Barbad Prize is awarded to the best albums produced during the past year and is presented at the end of the Festival.

Fajr International Music Festival is Iran’s most prestigious Music Festival, founded in 1986.

Since then, the festival has enjoyed strong performances of many famous national and international artists.

The 2017 edition of the event is chaired by Iranian musician and traditional vocalist Hamid-Reza Nourbakhsh, who is also the current director of Iran’s House of Music.

The festival is a platform to introduce and create awareness about less-known musicians, Nourbakhsh said earlier about the event.
